FOOD SENSE: November in person or phone orders can be place on Mon, Nov 3, 9am-12noon and Thurs, November 6, 9am-12 noon. Online orders can be placed anytime at https://foodsense.foodbankcny.org/. Delivery is Thursday, November 20, 2:30-4:00. IMPORTANT: The program has some funds available to pay for items for those in need. Let Sharon Campbell know.
HEART TO HEART: Free community supper at Christ Church will be Monday, November 3 from 4:30pm until gone. Menu includes soups, salad, bread and assorted desserts. Donations accepted. Contact Sandy Robinson (315) 783-2541 to help with serving and clean-up or to donate a dessert.
COMFORT FOOD & CONVERSATION: Free community supper at St. John’s Church in Cape Vincent will be on Thursday, November 6 from 4:00pm until gone. Menu is chef’s choice. Donations accepted.
Search Committee Survey
Dear River Parishes Community:
In August, our last opportunities to embrace Rev. Lisa were emotional and hopeful. Her final combined service was held at Christ Church on August 24th, followed by a wonderful picnic. We thanked her for loving and serving with us along the river for more than seven years, then wished her well on her new journey with St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Schenectady, NY. If you missed the chance to say goodbye or sign the card, just write to her, C/O St. John’s or Christ Church, and we’ll make sure she receives it.
Now, the River Parishes' wardens, vestries and parishioners are shifting gears. The Search Committee has been chosen from vestry members and parishioners, and we are hard at work. Morning Prayer and supply priests for Holy Eucharist are still being scheduled. Thanks to volunteers, services will continue to air on Zoom at St. John’s and Christ Church. Please remember that calling a new rector can be a long process. Our goal is finding someone to worship with us, love us and inspire us along the next part of our journey.
All of the River Parishes' voices will help prospective rectors picture themselves here among us. We need your help. The attached parishioner survey could get you started. Or, skip to question 7 on the survey and write from your heart! Access a paper copy of the survey using the blue link button below.
